Waupaca is the county seat of Waupaca County. The city is believed to be named after Sam Waupaca of the Potowatomi tribe. The Waupaca Foundry is the largest employer in the city. The popular Waupaca Chain O'Lakes lies just outside of the city. Waupaca is the site of the Waupaca Veterans Home, a a 750-bed nursing and residential facility for state residents who have served in our nation's armed forces. There are strong industrial and service industries in the area. Population in 2010 was 6,069.
