Hortonville is located in southwestern Outagamie County. The village is the site of the only lake in the county--the 75-acre Black Otter lake. Village founder, Alonzo Horton, later moved to California and developed the city of San Diego, California. During World War II, a German POW camp was established on the north side of the village. Population in 2010 was 2,711.
